Frequently Asked Questions

What happens during your consultation.

Consultations are a way for me to get a true understanding of what you are looking for. During this time we go through a medical health form to make sure you are eligible to receive the procedure. Once we have confirmed that, we then go through what your desired outcomes are, including shape, pigment colours and technique. If you are unsure of what you are after, do not worry. I will always give my professional advice to help you. I will ask you to come with your normal makeup to your appointment, so I can get a good idea of what you wear day to day. This is important for me, so I can interpret what technique will be best for your lifestyle and skin type.

How long does the procedure take?

For consultations I allow between 20-30mins.

Your initial appointments take approximately 2-3 hours. This depends on what treatment you have, for example, lips, eyeliner or brows.

4-6 week top up sessions can take anytime between 30mins - 1 1/2 hours.

Will it hurt?

A topical anaesthetic cream is applied to the area before and during the procedure to ensure you are in as little pain as possible. In fact, a lot of my clients find the whole procedure relaxing! Please note, there are always exceptions; some clients feel no pain while others have mild discomfort. However, a lot of my clients do fall asleep during there treatment.

How will I know if I am going to like it?

Firstly I would advise you to have a look through my social media pages to get an idea of what my work looks like. Then I would advise you to chose some of your favourite pictures that you can show me. Once you have done that, I always get my clients to come for a free consultation. This is where we go through the whole procedure together including pigment colours, styles and techniques. This will allow me to get an idea of what you are looking for and if I am the artist for you!

And finally the most important bit of information, I always draw a pre template design, this happens on the day of your initial treatment. Firstly I do some measuring of your face to get perfect symmetry, I also look at your bone structure and face shape. This takes around 30 minutes to draw as we have a little play around with different styles and what will suit you best, no matter if you are having brows, lips or eyeliner. This allows you to get a really good idea of how the final result will look! At this time you will know the exact colour, shape and technique I will be doing for you before I have even started your treatment! Not all artists do this step, but for me it is the most important.

The difference between Micro-pigmentation and Micro-blading.

Microblading is a manual method that allows me to recreate, correct and improve the appearance of your natural brow. This procedure is ideal for both people who have natural brows and those who don’t. A microblade is a hand-held tool made out of needles, that puts pigment into the dermal layer of your skin. The results often last from 8 to 12 months. I only use microblading for my 'super natural' hairstroke brows.

Micropigmentation is a semi-permanent makeup method. This method is done with a digital machine. The colour is implanted into the same layer of the skin as microblading. However, it does last longer than Microblading method. Micropigmentation procedure typically lasts 12-24 months for most clients. I use this type of procedure for my lips, eyeliners, hairstroke and ombre brows.

How often will it need to be touched up?

I recommend annual touch-ups for my clients to maintain the desired shape & colour.
Some skins will retain pigment longer, everyone is different. Skin, lifestyle, tanning, weather and following aftercare…all these determine your permanent makeup outcome and longevity.

Whats the healing process?

Your enhancement will appear slightly darker and bolder straight after your treatment. Minimum flaking and pealing will occur days 3-5, fully healed by days 7-14.

*Please see 'treatment advice' page for full aftercare advice. Please note aftercare for brows, lips and eyeliner are all slightly different.

Treatment Advice

How will I look straight after my treatment?

Your enhancement will appear slightly darker and bolder straight after your treatment, this will soften within a few days. Your lips and eyes may swell very slightly, but is very limited, and I will give you some tips of how to reduce that even more if needed.

What happens to my natural brow hair?

Kaylise will work with your natural brow as much as possible, this includes if you have a full bushy brow, natural brow, patchy, sparse, or no brow at all. Once I draw your brow shape, and we both agree. I only take a few hairs outside that shape, if needed and the rest of the brow hair stays put.

Where am I based?

I work from a home base clinic, located in Benfleet, Essex, which is fully lisenced and insured.
